A difficult project topic to tackle, but there are some nice ideas here that make for an interesting presentation. I think that visual elements and some more technology examples could strengthen the presentation and the ideas for the actual implementation of the project.

I do not know if I am suppose to comment on my own presentation.

I will just say that the most difficult part of this assignment for me was to separate the 'do-able' from the 'unrealistic'. My brain can only grasp one presentation at a time. I can not comprehend a whole day of them.

I like the idea of this project as a whole. I think students today are becoming complacent about security issues in and out of school. I think a revisit to the tragedy may bring students back to the ideas that many of us now take for granted. I think security measures need to be in place so our students understand how this country is helping to keep citizens safe from another terrible attack. The presentation was evidence that there was a great deal of effort put forth by group members. I think that using more technology and images may make the presentation more engaging to viewers. Otherwise, I wish you the best of luck with this very important topic.

• Under technologies maybe you could explain how you are going to use these technologies, i.e. Podcasts—student or teacher generated?

• You have a large group of potential partners at your fingertips. We are in New York so we have a better opportunity to reach these people and share it with the rest of the country. This might be a place that your various technologies can come into play to make it possible for the students to share and collaborate with other students across the nation.

• Is this only going to take place over the course of one day?

• I know that it can be very emotional for some students who have a personal connection. Perhaps another outcome can be a supportive environment in addition to the understanding of tolerance.

I like this idea as a project. I think that many of our young people do not understand the sacrifices that others have made for their rights and freedoms, and at the same time do not have a sense of responsibility to do the same. I would just like to see some more specifics about what the students are going to do in terms of projects, etc.

This project brings to light a very important issue. I agree that people have become displaced from 9/11 and it is important that we stress reality of that situation in school. I do think that having students sit through a day of presentation may be a bit much.

Excellent topic. It is very interesting. You might want to add some specials from the history channel as resources.

I think this is definitely an important topic to tackle in all schools. I was upset this year when our principal said we will be having a moment of silence on 9/11 but that we were NOT allowed to discuss 9/11 AT ALL with our students! I am wondering how you will attempt to introduce this topic with younger students who were babies or maybe not even born when 9/11 happened.

I strongly agree with addressing the concepts of patriotism and tolerance with our students. Discussion of the 9/11 attacks will undoubtedly create a great deal of conversation between students. It is definitely a very challenging topic to discuss with young students. I liked how the presentation offered some appropriate websites that offer helpful suggestions on how to address the topic with such students. Perhaps a link or YouTube video featuring artwork created by children in response to the attacks could be attached to the presentation? It would be a nice way to illustrate the way different children reacted to the attacks and how such works helped unite the people of our country during such a difficult time.

I have to say that this was a rather interesting collaboration as it is a great way to help students see the history of what our country went through and how other children dealt with it and how they got help. What could have added more meaning to this collaboration would be to add photos, videos, movie or a podcast to keep the readers interest.

I think this is a very important topic for students to discuss in schools and even pursue outside of school as suggested here. I'm curious exactly what types of questions students would bring to survivors, police officers, firefighters, etc. Would it be challenging to find these types of people who would simply just want to talk to students and share their stories?

I do not clearly understand the project or activity the students will be doing. I do enjoy the topic and believe that in todays day and age students need to be informed about what is out there. I know working in a elementary school the students do not even know what happened on 9-11 and it is important to inform the students. I believe that talking with survivors could be a difficult thing to accomplish. Maybe writing letters to them might make it easier for those who were involved to respond to the students questions.

This project was good just a little too much to the point. I think more can be done with this project and this was done a bit too basic. I think there are many things that can be elaborated.
